The BBC’s DIY SOS Team were recently in North Shields helping a family in need. JT Planning were asked to get involved to produce a Topographical Survey to confirm levels and features within the rear garden. The team has done an amazing job and the completed work was revealed to the family on the 16th August 2018.
The family involved is Rachel and John Matthews who live in North Shields with their three children; Isabelle, Anna and Evelyn. Evelyn was born with a rare genetic condition known as CHARGE syndrome. Evelyn has many associated medical complications including chronic kidney failure which requires her to be hooked up to a dialysis machine overnight. Evelyn’s room was too small for her medical equipment and the family were unable to fit a hoist or adapted bed which she desperately needed.
The completed build will make a huge difference to the lives of Evelyn and her family. We wish the whole family a very happy future. Congratulations to the team and the volunteers for the amazing work they did in such a short space of time. JT Planning were honoured to have been involved.
